Puducherry, on the gulf of Bengal, preserves its colonial-style architecture with care. Custom-made lampposts in cast iron with 851 LED lamps were chosen to illuminate the city centre.
The city was designed according to the traditional French grid pattern, with square housing blocks and perpendicular tree-lined avenues. The central park is a point of reference for the entire city.
